My brother plays games on Windows. I tried to convert him to Linux like two times, but he doesn’t want to do it. He doesn’t even play multiplayer games. Just single-player and co-op games. So Anticheat wouldn’t be a problem. When I said to him that Steam is releasing their own Linux distro, he said: Sure, I will try that.
That was almost 3 years ago and there still isn’t official steamos for desktop.
Thx this sounds like the best solution. Definitely trying it out. Idk how well I will be able to do it, Because I didn’t even made those containers myself. I just used proxmox helper scripts. Something came up today and I didn’t have time again, will try it tomorrow.
Ok, that doesn’t sound hard. I hope there are no more unforeseeable problems. When I create the new user in containers, should I create the same user in proxmox host and change ownership of the hdd, and all existing files in it, to it? Probably yes, right? Don’t have time today again, will try it tomorrow after work.
Thx for providing some alternative. I think I will still try to first make it work with mount points and local users. But I appreciate your post and will keep it in mind if I need to use it later.

Did you know that authors only get 25% cut from their book? Amazon is pocketing the rest. Sanderson said couple of days ago, that he made them change it and it should come to effect sometimes in 2024. We don’t know what the new terms are, but I doubt it is even remotely close to already pretty low industry standard of 70%. I would guess it will be somewhere around 40 at best.

In couple of months I will be building my first server and I was looking for something for audiobooks too. What do you mean that subfokders are not supported? Now I manualy add books to my phone and my folder structure is: Books series > * Book 1 * Book 2
Or Standalone books > * Book X * Book Y

Unless your upload speed is really big, you wont get any meaningful ratio if you are only seeding while watching the movie(in reasonable quality).
As far as I know most inbuilt adblockers, don’t work very well. Especially with yt. Everytime yt does something, you would probably have to wait for new version of your browser, and even then it is questionable if it would work. With ublock origin you just click on one button and you are good to go. If somebody doesn’t know, I’m talking about refreshing your filters.

Exactly the same thing, I just thought that was Linux gaming “it is what it is”, until I got steam deck.

I am fed up with Nvidia drivers too. Games run smoother on my Steam Deck than on my PC. Like I have higher average FPS on my PC but the frame time graph are spikes after spikes. And on Steam Deck frame time graph is smooth line.
Can I ask why 6700? In raster performance it’s only about 10 faster than 2080 and in ray tracing it is worse. It might be a bit different on linux, but either way, when I will be upgrading I want better improvement than that.
I don’t really need to play the latest games, so I can easily wait. My next gpu will probably be 8800xt or even 9800xt
Great to see, sadly I wouldn’t be able to use it. I have GTX 10 series and the next one I will be buying is AMD or maybe Intel, if their drivers get a lot better by the time I am in a market for a new GPU.

I’m new to Star Trek. I’m just on 2nd season of TNG. The original series is a bit too old for me, so I skipped it. I don’t have problem watching movies from 50s, I watched a lot of Hitchcock movies, but Star Trek is sci-fi and visual effect are not doing it for me.
