I stared a year ago, from scratch. Fumbled around with a Raspberry for a few months and then bought a mini PC for 100 euros. (Lenovo tiny m73 with 8GB of RAM and a 500 GB ssd) That’s all you need.
Proxmox is a great way to go because it’s quite easy to create and delete virtual machines. You’ll be starting over quite a bit in the beginning.
I recommend documenting your stuff so you can easily start over. Claude.ai has been a great help for me to troubleshoot. AI is awesome to get the typos out of your config files.

They all laugh and say its obvious wheyer they’re straight, gay or whatever and then I say I one really asked for that. I ask them to disclose how they get off. Their filthiest porn fantasies. Then it gets a bit more difficult for them but it’s all ask giggles. Next question is the exact amount on their bank account and their exact monthly wage. Strangely, that’s something most of them won’t disclose. I ask for their insecurities and they go with superficial things but when I keep pushing about the real insecurities it get hard for them.
When I explain that what they find hard to share with a friend of most likely out in the open for sale with data brokers they get uncomfortable.
Social media knows how much you visit you coworkers profile and get you have a crush on therm. Porn sites know your deepest desires. Amazon had a pretty good insight in your earnings.
It’s all our there so use a decent VPN , block as many trackers as you can and at least use fake online profiles as much as you can. It’s a start and not as difficult or bothersome as it seems.

Nearly all digital media is locked so in order to back up something you own you’ll have to break the lock. Fuck. Them. (And the people who voted for these laws)

I’m not totally sure, as I’m not from the US but I think the DMCA is the nasty player in this game.

How can local govs make this happen?English1·5 months agoSo, one one hand you have a repairability index that indicated how repairable certain devices are.
A bit lame, I agree, and a copy of the French system.
But there’s also this knowledge platform that is installed by the same law that unites producers, suppliers, employees, environmental organisations and al our regional governments (we have a few of those…)
Every 6 months they’ll have to report and evaluate repairability and make suggestions to improve legislation. The law is constructed in such a way that it can easily be adapted and expanded.
Every quarter they’ll evaluate how producers and importers comply to the legislation.
So, yes. It’s not much for now but it is a certain step in the right way. They’re careful not to overregulate and will evaluate and evolve.
Also, it makes no sense installing legislation if there is no apparatus to maintain and sanction.
I’m mildly optimistic because our government is seldom caught being thoughtful and considerate 🙈

The Repair cafés run by volunteers are now formal repair hubs that are subsidized and will be involved in building up knowledge for further legislation.
