Matrix works great. Element X is my favourite client.
‘You won’t have a calculator on you everywhere you go’ was another one.
I think this question would be easier when you write phonetically.
Thanks. I agree with your conclusion. I probably have spent too much time in privacy communities. In the end you’ll have to trust someone.
I’ve set up some tunnels. Works nice but then the voices came. ‘Why would you trust a company like Cloudflare with all your data?’ ‘Why rely on this one company for all your services?’
Nearly a year into my selfhosting journey and I’m more confused than ever.
I’m an early gen y’er. I’m fairly positive but that’s easy when you live in one of the wealthiest countries in the world. I have gen z children and their future is bright. We’re not rich but when they turn 18 (my daughter is 17) they have opportunities that I never had. It will be harder to gather wealth but they will be able to faal back on a steady base at home. My children can choose to go to university when they finish high school or take a sabbatical and travel the world. I don’t have the money to fund that but they are well educated enough to find the means of living wherever they go. If they want to have a meaningful life, then there are plenty of opportunities. If they just want a simple life with a job that provides a steady income, then that is fine.
As I said, I live in one of the wealthiest countries of the world and in the safe harbour of the EU. I don’t know anything about your situation.

Great post!
Dirt cheap actually. But still I’m setting up a self hosted version. I suppose that’s why we’re here.
No background but I can read and listen. There are plenty of resources around.
I started out of privacy concerns and I wanted to deGoogle It started this year with a RPI and pihole. Then I saw Mealie, bought a domain, and started sharing recipes with my family.
At first I messed around with Casa OS. It’s like a gateway drug. So easy to use and get stuff running.
Last week a 2nd hand i5 arrived and now I moved everything to proxmox. The RPI is still running pihole. At the moment I’m setting up Immich and I’m thinking about buying a NAS.
Since it is a new hobby I keep everything low cost. If it sticks I’ll invest in a proper home server.
I join my boomer squad nearly every night. I’m the youngest at age 43. We win 1 in every 4 games, so that’s not awful. Depending on the mood we w-key or we just have fun and giggles.
It is a very well made game with fun mechanics and plenty of content.
‘‘De deur staat open. Doe je haar even dicht?’’
I mean, you can’t go without gendering if the language is like that.
I speak Flemish and when I speak dialect it’s pretty easy. When I say ‘ne stoel’ it’s masculin. ‘Ne deur’ doesn’t work so is femine.
Because of how languages evolved. But my male neighbour still is a midwife.
Same in Dutch but ‘‘student(e)’’ is generally accepted.
In Dutch a door is female. Chair? Male.
