I would think in a way it’s like what happens with the music industry. Don’t get me wrong, that industry has its own problems, but for the vast majority of music, I can listen to it on Spotify, YT music, Apple Music, etc. I don’t need to sign up for Sony+ to listen to their artists, etc.
Same should have happened to the movie industry.
Some security camera systems have this built in. They show snapshots of various times where you choose the total period, say 24 hours. Then you glance through the snapshots that are all displayed at once on the screen and click on the last one where your bike was still there. That will then “zoom in” the timeline and show another set of snapshots, though this time within a smaller total time window. Keep clicking on the last panel with the bike, and it will soon show you the clip of the bike being stolen.
Really helpful to find out when something changed.
I’d love to get a copy if you’d be willing to share it.
Are there any easy ways to auto purge stalled torrents (either after a certain amount of time, or if they’ve never seen a complete copy after some time?) I have most of the *arr suite and use qbittorrent. I recently installed qbit_manage, but I’m not sure how to use it yet.
One runs Home Assistant (Pi4), and an older one runs RetroPi (Pi3) for my arcade cabinet.
I have another Pi3 that I used to use as a Steam Streaming device to put my PC games on the projector.
Memmy has the feature to block instances client side, it doesn’t seem to be working in the latest version. The list keeps clearing out randomly. Sadly blocking a user causes my version to just crash as well.
This is especially bad due to certain instances. It wasn’t so bad on Reddit where they usually limited themselves to a few subreddits, but it’s really off putting to see the nonstop propaganda they spew. So glad LW defederated with that instance.
Unfortunately the same could be said of the stock market. When it comes to financial planning for retirement or longer financial stability, one can choose between real estate or the stock market (among other choices).
I think the real issue with property ownership is having some reasonable limits and regulations. 1) no foreign investments in certain home types, 2) a cap/limit on the properties owned by any individuals (or LLCs they are associated with), and most importantly a complete ban on corporations owning residential properties.
Sure we could transition into removing real estate as an investment vehicle, but unfortunately I really can’t see a realistic path to this.
I had a blast learning and configuring vlans for my smart switch and putting all the IOT devices on their own network.
