  • If you want to say they’re not ready for prime time or have issues that still need to be worked out is one thing

But they’re not stupid, a tablet’s biggest problem is that they’re a second device you need to carry around to be of use. Being able to have a small tablet with you at all times and there when you need it the most is a good idea

Plus the tech that went into it to make glass fold in half is freaking cool lol

  • Is it really “taken” though when we never owned those spaces to begin with? The house makes sense because it was “their” house and even the country being “taken” makes sense because it is your country in a way

But the digital spaces that rose like Facebook or Reddit were never owned, they were always on borrowed time and resources.

The Taken analogy also implies that there will be less and less space, but it’s easier than ever to create your own digital space and anybody could do it at any time. It’s just that most preferred to use someone else’s space because it was even easier

  • Hm sounds like the bug is in the code that handles the “one session only” rule

Per Microshits T&Cs you can only have 1 session of any kind at a time unless you get the super special business multi seat RDP license (because ofc)

I actually have a Powershell script I found awhile back that patches the RDP DLL so it stops caring about multiple sessions

I spent entirely too much time trying to track down

Been there, if you have the audacity to force your way into the WindowsApps folder you’ll bork the permissions systems so bad that every single post about how to fix it ends in “just reinstall” me being me that was an unacceptable answer.

Took me a week to fix it so the MS store would launch again. On the flip side, I have a whole new understanding of the permissions system on windows. Heh

  • Integrating CPU/GPU/RAM on the same chip just leads to crazy increases in performance and efficiency. As usual Apple paves the path to erosion of consumer choice.

CUDIMM is the socket-able answer to this and it’s rolling out. What’s the excuse for soldering SSDs?

but it can also be disabled with some simple terminal commands.

For now, Apple’s not stupid, they know if they move too fast they’ll piss off too many people so they’re doing it slowly step by step.

  • Linux is awesome, it’s neat watching its developer friendliness result in snowballing market share.

Why not ditch MacOS? Mac’s are just as bad as Windows, just in different ways.

Apple has been progressively neutering root on a path to make a laptop as much of a walled garden as iOS. Not to mention the entirely soldered RAM and SSD and then charges ridiculous premiums to get more
