People forget in the 90s/00s both GIF and JIF were relatively common image file types. It was only logical to use the hard G for GIF. So that’s how we used it. This overrules all arguments of how acronyms work or what the creator originally called it.

Having only glanced at the video in the article, I kind of agree the new graphics look sorta like crappy mobile game art. I am not a big fan personally.

Linking to the source seems more boomerish than screenshotting to me. Boomers don’t know how to screenshot, and it’s more cumbersome to have to go to a new site.
I think it’s valid to feel this way. Even so, it’s impossible to stop the progress of time. You just have to find a way to balance this in your life. You don’t have to stay up to date in everything, either.

I used jif files in the 90s. Sure they were less common but they existed. Everyone I knew said gif like gift in the 90s. I sure other people said jif instead. But I’m not making this up. Your experiences aren’t necessarily universal.
