In case any one is looking for a solution, chwd -a
should be all you need if you’re running CachyOS.
Thanks! I’ll give the foss drivers a try. I doubt I’ll stick with them but I’d love to be wrong.
Thank you, that helps!
Yes, I unfortunately need the proprietary drivers. Unless the open source ones have gotten a whole lot better in the 4-5 years I’ve been using Linux on my desktop. I really hope AMD steps up their game because their cards are just worse performance wise.
Oh boy if you’re particular about spelling, Middle English would drive you crazy. There’s almost no consistency with spelling. Scribes would just write what they heard so it’s mostly phonetic unlike modern English.
I’ve been using desktop Linux for 6 years and am only vaguly aware of it.
The only solution to the anti-cheat problem I see is a Linux anti-cheat. Yes, devs can enable Linux support in EZ and whatever the other one is called. But those anti-cheats only work in Wine userspace. Pretty easy for cheat devs to get around, and get around those shitcunts do.
Edit: Another solution, though cringe would be an AI based anti-cheat that doesn’t need kernel level access to work effectivly.
If you like endeavourOS, CachyOS is really good too. It’s also Arch based and includes a really fast custom kernel. It also has lots of gaming enhancements whatever that means. I’ve been trying to spread the word, not a lot of people seem to know about it. I hear Bazzite is pretty good as well. I definitely need to try it out.
10 sucked ass. It’s the reason I stayed on Windows 7 way longer than I should have.
I think it’s because it’s an 8TB drive at 86% capacity. Everything seems fine in smart. I had issues with cables before which led to a bunch of errors in smart. It might be worth checking anyway however. I was planning on adding another drive anyway. Might as well swap the cable.
I solved the issue. In case anyone else ever has this problem add x-systemd.mount-timeout=60
to your corresponding drive in /etc/fstab. I guess CachyOS doesn’t like to wait for slow hard disks.

Thank you! This seems relevant.
I’m considering the NVIDIA RTX-4070 Super. I was impressed with it’s performance in Cyberpunk 2077.
Sorry, but what app are you referring to? I care about RT for a few games. AMD’s RT implementation does not work at all for Resident Evil 2 and 3 remake. I also want it for Cyberpunk 2077 and Silent Hill 2 Remake. I know there’s a performance hit using RT. As long as the game is running at an acceptable frame rate I’m not too worried about performance. I’ve seen the difference in lighting and It’s very significant in Cyberpunk 2077.
I’ll be honest I did not know news aggregators were a thing. It actually seems right up my alley so I’ll try it out. Thank you.
Yeah, not really my thing. I play horror games mostly. I’d like to think i’m up to date on what games are popular though.
I don’t remember hearing about this game when it came out. It’s not my type of game but usually I hear about these games in passing.
I’ve never even heard of it so that might be part of the problem.
I know. I meant there’s a flapak app that lets you download more and newer versions of Proton. I can’t promise it’ll fix your issue but it might be worth trying.
