the pi’s serving me very well for now, load average at idle 0.01 and when doing stuff it hovers at around 50, temps under 40°C even under load and an extremely low noise level (not to mention the almost non-existent power draw)

if one day I decide to go full homelab with proxmox and stuff i might buy a dedicated tower but I don’t see the appeal atm

docker-ify everything, my nginx, nextcloud, pihole, jellyfin, and basically everything else is a nightmare and I can’t even begin to understand how to modify the shit that 2023 me did 2023 chatgpt spat out, so having everything in some neat docker composes is gonna help immensly

unless you do it from a running system (which you shouldn’t, unless you want everything corrupted, that won’t help. windows has a feature called fast startup that only kinda shuts down your PC, even if you unplug it, so things that would get fixed by an actual reboot wouldn’t be fixed in your case

i didnt quite understand the issue, but if you just need -30V you can get another 30V power supply and join them in series (the ground wire from the old and the positive wire from the new supply), then you can use the joined wire as ground, the ground side of the new supply as -30V and the positive of the old supply as +30

My guess would be that companies will probably go after the 99.9% of people that torrent on public trackers, while ignoring private ones since it’s not worth it to go to all that trouble just to track the last 0.1%
