Thanks! Need to see if they have documented their datasets AND are actually public
First i hear about it, any links?
No, no, it does work, but it depends on the size of your library
I think my doubt was less “Can they do it?” (as i believe they can, should have in mind the transcoding limitation as i didn’t knew) and more “SHOULD you do it?” given that it’s gonna be filled with movies/series/whatever, and it’s still a megacorp product
I’ve used one of those Synology devices for something at work and really liked the interface and all that, everything worked well and without issues and with minimal admin required (which is my main issue, i don’t really wanna admin stuff in my free time), but will that work when what you want is to set up a NAS media server thing full of downloaded stuff despite being a commercial thing that may or may not phone home at some point in our sad enshittocene? I do believe it works for this but haven’t heard much in this community related to this, it’s usually people advocating to set up a normal machine as a NAS
Ah, i misunderstood, yeah, there’s got to be some rigging in that demo pic now that you mention it, however if Moissanite is essentially a drop-in replacement for diamonds in jewelry that is cheaper and looks even slightly nicer, which seems to be the case, then all should be well, doubly so if it kills the profits of De Beers. I’d ask to see the contrast IN PERSON if i was shopping for rings today though, nothing beats that.
Moissanite is a completely different substance than diamond, it’s a silicon carbide crystal, and it’s also made synthetically so no worries about exploitation mining, it’s also cheaper
For a few years I’ve saved this pic from previous similar posts in various places, no need even for freaking diamonds
Bluesky is by definition one of the things mentioned by the OP, they’re a commercial site, backed by venture capital, which recently received a round of financing on the order of 15 million by a freaking blockchain company, and i remember recently hearing they just plain don’t have a path to profit so it’s the same story as all the others. They ARE going to enshittify sooner or later. Here’s Cory Doctorow on this.
36%
On one hand i love to see people fleeing Twitter, on another i think it foolish to move to another corporate site that eventually WILL enshittify. Here’s Cory Doctorow on why he won’t join Bsky or Threads
Enshittification Stage 1 is ALWAYS sweet, but eventually ends
Like OpenAI?
Tha’s been my beef with GOG for years now, their utterly stubborn stance of ignoring anything besides Windows even when it’s common sense to do so
Two words: Steam Deck.
Person uninformed about these things here with an uninformed question: What are the chances that the Mozilla Foundation itself can be forked like the code can be?
Likely https://pivot-to-ai.com/
Why the hell would you maintain the original name when you know Nintendo is chasing forks?
