not called Brad but rather a lad, from Bradford in the UK.
Enjoys breaking apps, escooters, spam rings and sometimes bones, but not my own. That sucks.
Really appreciated, and you use either of these?
I am finding it difficult to find a reliable Cloud service
I’ll tell ya what I have issue with.
Tailscale allows me and others to access our own locally hosted storage but requires a SSO provider. Currently using Google and Github I ain’t too confident with that and would love others thoughts on how to self host it?
Aye!
I think one of the most concerning things for me thou recently is Google Play just chucking off dev’s apps from the Store because they don’t update them at a rate of knots / some arbitrary thing that hasn’t been disclosed to devs or left in a puddle of legalese in the TOS :/
I think your concerns about lack of updates is something while it worries some, I find it nice when updates are released only when it’s stable.
If you check the devs history they reviewed a pull on KISS launcher itself back in Nov
https://github.com/Neamar/KISS/pull/2345#issuecomment-2496214318
and I like slow burner builds and especially when the devs make the app for themselves to use like this one ;)
This research aims to examine whether a preference for popular music of a specific era still exists and whether it still follows a
non-monotonicnon monolithic relationship with age.
I went with a typo at first :/
Because you’re trusting and paying two third parties instead of one? Like I say - my provider I imagine is dumping the copyright violations directly in the bin these days and if I wanted to really get off the clearnet and things went to shit I would simply spin up an I2P node/moar bandwidth if I was really concerned.
But I’m not currently, and find it weird how many want us to use things hosted in a different country which might be at any time under obligation to release all my details to a foreign entity. Each to their own and all.
Yeah I checked it out and it seems nice with all the other info not available in FlowX such as sunrise/sunset times etc in a Material theme. But I like FlowX simply for its information density and accuracy, latter being my most favourite thing since I can switch between high res models and predict myself if I need freezer pantie time/weather proofs.
Hell yes.
I ain’t a lover of that kinda app (aesthetics plz) and why I stick with Boost being a RiF user but having lots of alternatives is one of the many reasons we all kicked off originally over in r/Android about the API bollocks Mr Greedy Piggy Spez brought in. That, and shitting on the disabled/spam whackers/translators you name it. Pissed us off enough we made this instance.
Does that official reddit app have decent Accessibility features yet, or was Spez yet again talking out of his pooper?
Good work btw, and obligatory fuck spez ;)
I haven’t built / tried it yet but would getting rid of the reddit logo up top too (leddit, perhaps?) work well? Or even load up your local instance favicon etc?
I kinda disagree on the weather app subscription model.
The API usage cost devs a fair whack depending on the sources they scrape from and while I’ve never used Today Weather, I have used FlowX (formerly WeatherBomb) for ages and the free version has no crap / ads/ nag pages with basic radar models available, but I decided to subscribe since it (besides supporting the dev) gives me high resolution radars for longer time-spans. And since I’m an outdoor worker too I thought it best to be on top of the weather.
But overall I do agree some of the forced “subscribe or ads” model can die in a fire.
I don’t need to do nothing because as I said, there’s no copyrightable content hosted here.
Now go over to /r/piracy on reddit and ask them why they’re not taken down. We’ll be waiting.
You do understand that hosting copyrighted works, and linking to them are two entirely different things?
Aye. I’ve still got my Nexus One somewhere and while it feels dinky and have svelte enough pinkys to use it, it does feel like a EDC kinda thing that does phone calls + mp3 + browser.
But I also like the “plablet” era since what’s the point of straining our eyes and trying to poke at the smallest advert “X” box on a likkle phablet?
Cargo pants + wifi + VPN at work I likey and saves me a few quid each month too.
Crazy to think in a couple of years RCS will be two decades old in the making
https://www.gsma.com/newsroom/press-release/gsma-to-take-rich-communication-suite-forwards/
I remember getting all excited when googs tried to take it by the reins in 2016ish but the amount of people that still…
1 - simply hate it and only use SMS still (and turn off mobile data too like neanderthrals)
2 - hate it because RCS sometimes just does not work because they got a backlog of “texts” suddenly coming through, and turn it off
3 - use a third party app for messaging instead and have done with it
I really don’t see how it’s gonna compete with Apple being, Apple too :/
I have no idea where it got Andraiod daydreams from but thought I’d make you a nice personal AI wallpaper 😇
On a serious note though before peeps rip me a new one for even suggesting AI images?
Muzei is still pretty cool to this day, Xiaomi theme thingy has some probably knocked off images that I’m currently using, and even just searching for something when I’m that bored enough to actually change my wallpaper.

I was just fucking around generating images with Gemini right now, and this reminded me of what you probably need in regards to a mod 🙈
The hell is the problem with generating these things to some peeps? Stealing from, artists?
At least I plan to set it up on my server to try it out - as soon as I’m having some time to breath…
The install script is wonderbar and I installed it here at work, from my phone 🙈
I know I know, I really shouldn’t go curl’ing > random bash scripts from the internet but it is some damn fine script if you read through it
https://raw.githubusercontent.com/lanedirt/AliasVault/main/install.sh
I look forward to playing with it when I get home, and thanks for the heads up!
I’ve kinda been struggling with Qbit and Ubuntu in this regard (+time at work is killing me).
Default repo gives up Qbit v4.6.3 but doesn’t have libtorrent-raster-v2 and has only v1 but then, Qbit v5.0.4 (I think it’s that version but on my phone) doesn’t give up the i2p connection?
Anyone help out a noobie.ish wanting to give bandwidth out yet again (since the UK gov is being silly again) or, is there development for i2psnark at last?
