Is there some trick to get it to work properly? Everytime I tried to use it, it works fine for like 10 minutes and then everyone desyncs to hell.
It’s still better than Plex’s which didn’t work at all though.

Not sure why you’re trying to invalidate the experiences of people in my region and me but sure whatever makes you happy.
Is there a newer method? I had to install Ubisoft Connect recently and it’s still somewhat tedious having to set up all the Proton settings manually.
Agreed. It’s hard to believe anyone still recommends Asus after the whole GN debacle.
If you’re in Asia, that debacle is a non-issue. Their support in Asia has been great for me. I’m on the Steam Deck camp but they’re still my go to for gaming laptops.
Same here, it’s strange because within my social circles no one talks about them. I only ever use them for the custom menus but that’s pretty much about it. Generally people seem to like using it on shooters but I’ve tried it and still prefer to play shooters with a mouse on my PC. Only ever play more controller friendly games on my Deck so it’s not a big deal to me either.
This looks great, I’ve been looking for a self-hostable replacement ever since gfycat was shut down. Gonna give it a shot.
The worst is when it’s buried in Github issues or in a header file with thousands and thousands of lines of code. Yes I’m looking at you DearImGui, your documentation is awful and I’m already being generous.
They should make any developers who are required to write documentation go through this step. It’ll be an interesting day and you’ll actually learn something… I hope.
the fact that I can put the Deck into sleep mode at a moment’s notice, the fact that I can take it on a plane or to another city and still play things from my library
This is the largest thing for me. It’s insanely convenient just like the switch when taking the train or the bus, except that I have a full library of my Steam games and it runs way better.
It’s not currently my own jellyfin server but I am looking to set up one soon. Thanks for the huge write up though, it’ll be very helpful when I eventually get to it. So far whenever I searched it up, I just found a lot of complaints on GitHub with not much solutions, so I really appreciate it.
