In software development it’s usually used to describe the situation after an incident was resolved. The team that’s responsible for the feature usually performs a postmortem to find out the root cause and find out what they can do to avoid another incident.
Well I’ll be damned.
Text for my screen reader using friends.
Me: What is the I in LLM stands for?
Gemini: The “I” in LLM doesn’t stand for anything. LLM stands for Large Language Model.
I love having an analog clock. It makes it feel like you have more time compared to a digital clock, making me more relaxed. For example, if the time is 12:34 PM, my subconscious will think, “Ahh, shit, 26 more minutes before 1 PM.” But with an analog clock, I read it as around half an hour before 1 PM. The visual representation also helps, like seeing that there is a distance that the hands need to travel to reach a certain time.
All in all, I very much prefer having analog clocks vs digital when given the chance.
At what cost, though? I thought the generations after the millennials would be more tech-literate. But after seeing Gen Zs around me at home and at work, things are just regressing.
It’s something similar like the dotcom crash where everyone and their mother is looking to capitalize on The Next Big Thing™ which will then crash spectacularly but will leave a host of survivors that’ll be the next big companies.
I hate how true this is. Not even 2 years later for my case.
All the projects that have shittier outcomes in my experience is always waterfall. This is mainly because the stakeholders usually have this bright idea to be added in the middle of development that’s really need to be added at all costs and then got angry when the timeline got pushed because of their fucking request breaking a lot of shit.
At least scrum has a lead time of around 2 weeks so that when someone has a idea we can tell them we’ll add it to the backlog and hope they forgot about it during the next sprint planning.
Most of the time they already know whether you’re human or robot from your user agent string and the speed of your request. I encountered multiple layer of Captchas if I turned in my VPN and blocked all trackers.
It’s been here since the Galaxy S3 days…
All the high end phones are flat now so the assembly line for curved screens are throwing a discount.
I like it in the Tomb Raider reboot, the first kill is like that and after she got over it she became the genocide machine. I think it was lampooned in one of the sequels.
Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
This is what happened at the Donald on reddit. It was a place to meme Trump’s idiotic presidential bid. But as soon as he got real chance at the election it was soon overran by the MAGA crowd.
I just use foldable phones now. The outer screen width of a Galaxy Fold is the same as an Xperia Z3 Compact and when I use the phone two handed I get the benefit of having a big-ass screen. You just get used to the weight after a while.
Ohhh that’s me right now. I work in a consultancy and I only got assigned to projects that are on fire. It’s almost 24 months without a gap between projects. Help me ಥ_ಥ
A good PM is rare because as soon as you get one, they’ll get poached within a few months.
It’s only scary if you’re incompetent.
My company started with full stack devs only and we’ve transitioned to specialized back end and front end since we realized that 1 specialized BE Engineer and 1 specialized FE Engineer can work faster with better quality than having 2 Full Stack Engineers.
I’d argue it’s little bit of column A little bit of column B, MediaTek are notoriously slow in releasing their kernel sources, hampering custom ROM development for devices that are using their SoCs.
