You seem like someone who would ask “why should I vote for better oppression?” without a hint of irony.
Still, it’s good to see that you’ll be alright, either way. That’s good to know, at least. I’m glad you won’t be effected by any of this.

Don’t worry, you can consol yourself with all the great new rock music being made
Tbf, even as someone around the same age as you, I can’t even make my own. Like, purely as a hobby but it all comes out as like stuff from the late 60s and early 70s. Even if I wanted to, I couldn’t make the rock/guitar music i grew up with.
I could always drown it in fuzz or hide the guitars, like everyone else these days I guess.
I’m just having a moan. I think its partly the emergance of rap etc. but also a generation traumatised by covid might not be into the same leary, brash rock sounds others might like. I mean, hearing it live with a huge crown thats full of energy makes such a difference. I’m hoping when there’s a higher percentage who experienced it live during those years instead, it might get better.
Of course, you do you. But, traditionally, in these situations people would just not read the comment and move on. They wouldn’t announce to everyone that they won’t be reading it because it’s a weird thing to do. I mean, could you imagin everyone writing that under every comment they didn’t read?
That would be a bit silly wouldn’t it?
Lol yeah but mine was halo…
OK, now hear me out first
Reddit is the halo of social media.
The wildness you used to get up to on the multilayer was on a new level. There was nothing like that before. On one level you were fighting back the orange hordes from the front pages, the next level you were fighting wealth hording dragons and ripping them off by playing them at their own game. On the last level they let you have freedom on, they were gearing up to try and kill a god. I mean, I don’t know how far antiwork would have gone in the end but it seemed to have been estimated far enough that action had to be taken and the threat neutralised. We might well not have killed that particular God but I reckon we could’ve given them a bloody nose all the same.
Then they parted ways with the people who actually made the game good and what you ended up with is a shite, soulless over corporatised shell of what it was before, thats little more than the skins from a game you used to enjoy transposed into one that you don’t.
I’m sure that made sense, followed on naturally from the conversation and didn’t just sound like unhinged ranting and deflections in your head, at least.
True or not, it would take something very special for the new Labour government to have already of given things to the people of the UK, seeing as Parliaments only been back for 2 weeks, don’t you think?
I mean, I have moderate expectations at best. I hope they don’t make things worse but, at the same time, I also think they’ll fall well short of achieving time travel.
Were you expecting time travel? I think you might be disappointed, if so.
The labour party is certainly flawed but you have to remember all they’ve given the people of the UK, in the brief times they’ve been in power (relatively speaking).
I’m not claiming it will fix everything but I would argue that the UK and just about every country thats had a labour movement that got into power benefited from it. Well, the 99% did.
Unless you know when the revolution is coming, it might be better to make alternative arrangements. Short of running to the hills and joining a commune, we’re quite deliberately not given any other option than to vote for better oppression.
If only there was some kind of proven road map where countries who has been dominated by their ruling elite using the two party trick went on to form a kind of labour movement that forced a third choice on the ruling class…
It also doesn’t account for corporate price gouging or the fact that the only reason people go hungry in the world is because letting them starve is more profitable than feeding them even the leftovers and about-to-go-off.
As well as what you said, theres also no reason not the presume the number could be much lower too.
Theres also god who is “both but neither.” You know, non binary. Well, he was biologically a man with a giant, oversized novelty penis but came out as non binary to mosses.
Remember everyone, CEOs do this stuff at the behest of capital. The shareholders want you to be annoyed at the CEO whos simply acting on their orders. Its part of the reason they pay CEOs so much.
They want us to be annoyed at everyone but the shareholders. Capital has always been the problem.

Would you still feel that way, about the very first part, if I was to remind you that some of the Russian oligarchs were crime bosses who took power and wealth by force?
Admittedly, it doesn’t have the hereditary rule part but that, for me, would simple fall under “the difference is the passage of time.” I see it much like the difference between a cult and a religion.
“Wage slave master”?
As a British person, I had a few awkward conversations with other British people when I’ve asked them to explain the difference between a royal or a higher level aristocrat and an oligarch.
It seems to be something to do with the length of time society had to endure their bastardry. Well, it’s either that or that they’re not from the Oligar region of Russia. Its one of the two.
