It really depends on the mods. Stock Minecraft and even many mods would run fine on a potato, but some of the bigger mods actually require quite a bit of CPU/overhead.
There are also various mods that require certain (older) versions of Java etc to run, and those versions of Java may have known security issues.
I hate to knock it as a product, but I compared a lot of the books I bought on Kindle and - unless I’m missing something - the selection on Kobo seems quite limited in comparison.
It seems that Amazon is using Kindle Unlimited you lock authors into exclusivity. This reeks of monopoly abuse but of course nobody is going to do anything about that.
And also that - depending on the format of the video and software involved - doing a “binary search” might not be that simple
With my own NVR system, it takes great quality video and I can pull files of it, but the actual interface is pretty janky to say the least, and accessing stuff like the fisheye cameras only really works well within the vendor’s app.
Honestly, go back in time a bit and this was pretty darn normal.

Oh hell yeah. I wouldn’t trust an SDCard to anything important except maybe a Pi where the actual OS is fairly unimportant and the data is stored elsewhere.

I used NextCloud in a Docker container but found that unless I was really on top of checking versions for updates, it was very easy to get behind and then unless one way VERY careful about going up in the correct increments, it was quite easy to end up with a version mismatch between the files and DB structure.
As much as I hate SNAP (mainly due to them being overused on Ubuntu desktop and bloaty blobs full of weird permission issues) I’ve got to say that moving to a SNAP version of NextCloud on my server has made my life so much easier. A scheduled job runs a “snap refresh” regularly and it’s been fairly stable for over a year now, except for one small incident where it broke the reference to the internal office suite install and for some reason stated trying to go with a localhost version

Yeah, I’d tend to agree on that. Even beyond the security issues, nuclear has the potential to be a safe, but it also has the potential to be disastrous if mis-managed.

I like nuclear as a power source, but the absolutely needs to be immutable rules in place to ensure it is properly managed and that anyone attempting to cut corners to save costs gets slapped down immediately. Corporate culture in North America seems to indicate otherwise.

Just do a “RetroPie” install on Linux. It was originally built for Pi’s but works fine on 64-bit Debian/Ubuntu etc

For companies that have a legacy product depending on the old OS, but unpatched vulnerabilities because said OS is EoL, maybe this may one day be an appealing option.
Yeah the Docker version hated me, mainly due to it sometimes getting a bit behind on updates and then having schema mismatches if I ran an update in that missed the previous one. No issues with the Snap thus far
There are a ton that have weird fucking usernames. I was confused at first why my Bluetooth was showing BobByJimSmith4345 as the “artist” after telling it to play a song, but yeah they’ll pretty much just look whatever up by name from YouTube and play it.

Any particular reason why you are using Proton? I believe there’s a native version of it for Linux (or at least there used to be).
Google also seems to pad their library with stuff uploaded to YouTube, which I’m pretty sure includes stuff not uploaded by authorized individuals.
